From doing yoga… To living yoga

Nowadays, “yoga” is often thought of asana: yoga postures.
Which can be performed in different ways.
When someone asks, “What kind of yoga do you do?“, that person usually means, “How do you do your asanas?”
Yoga is more.
The now popular yoga postures are only one part of a much bigger picture.
Yoga is an entire discipline with a long and rich history, rooted and developed in multiple traditions. It has been able to persist despite centuries of invasions, inquisitions and colonization. Therefore, the history of yoga is first and foremost a history of people. And where we still know a few big names today, it is above all also a history of many silent yogis. Both men and women. Who sustained knowledge, passed on wisdom and nurtured their spiritual practice. Not infrequently in suppression, sometimes of necessity in adapted forms.
And yet: yoga remained.
Thanks to the efforts of all those people, yoga can still provide helpful directional guides for life today.
Yoga – in its full context – can help you experience (more) inner stability, resilience and self-direction.
It can support you to be freer from conditioning and unhelpful thinking patterns, so you can step by step step step more into your life.
Your autonomy, from who you are.
And that’s where yoga lives.
The Land of Now offers retreats, trainings and (continuing) education.
Personal counseling and therapy is also available.
